One Week on the Trail

Started day 7 with a few treats. The sun was out, a nice switch from the rain the night before.
This little dude wandered past our campsite!

And we got to fill up our water at a cute little spring before we were on our way.

Our goal was to make it nearly 15 miles to the next water. Not an easy task, it would be our longest hike, and not the easiest section. The last several miles took us around Shale Butte, Lucifer, and Devil's Peak. All aptly named.

(Sorry folks. Trail's closed. Moose out front should have told ya.)

So far, this is the most scared I've been on the trail. All the rocks looked about half a wiggle away from causing a landslide. It was hard to take pictures. I'm not sure anything has tested my mental and physical stamina quite like this. Like having a baby, getting a tattoo, and running a marathon all at once.

Not a bad spot to land!

Sharing a spot with a handful of amazing thru hikers tonight. Hot Mess, Great Blue Heron, Iron Chef, Whiskers, Little Feet and Mirkle (sp?). Shared food, stories, and a Hobbit listening party. Ran into Hard Way, Toto, Caesar, and Horizon.

Ready for some hard earned zzz's!
