Sky Lakes Wilderness

Watching the thru hikers pack up to leave this morning was fun. So efficient after so many miles of practice!

With 23 miles to go before our next goal of Mazama Village in Crater Lake Park, we split up the miles between 2 days. Getting 15 done yesterday was great, but we're not ready to crush 23. (Yet?)

Not quite as many stunning views today, despite the fact that we apparently went past Maude, Ethel, and Ruth mountains.

We did go through some sections of forest that had burned, and we're starting to grow again.

(Tiny baby trees!)

These areas had many downed trees across the path and so our 13 miles today felt just as challenging as our 15 yesterday. Lots of climbing over and trekking around to move forward.

Met Karate Kid, Sprout (18! Get it girl!!) and Ledge. Ledge got his name by saving a friend's dog from a ledge while hiking! Badass!

Met up with Whoopsie and hiked with her to camp. She's just a breast cancer survivor kicking my ass out here on the trail. No big deal.

Full heart. Clear mind. Thrashed legs. Can't lose.

Crater Lake, here we come!
